After the suicide bombing in Pakistan resulting in the deaths of five Chinese nationals, tensions between Pakistan and China could escalate. Referring to security reasons, a day before the incident, the Chinese construction company suspended work on the Tarbela Hydroelectric Project. Additionally, they also halted work on the Dasu and Diamer-Bhasha hydropower projects.
