Ambani Launches Succession Plan, Inducts Isha, Akash, and Anant into Reliance Board
Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s offsprings – Isha, Akash, and Anant – have been appointed to the board of Reliance Industries Ltd, his sprawling conglomerate spanning from energy to technology. This move is perceived as a significant step towards charting a clear course for succession planning within India’s most valuable company.
In preparation for the company’s annual general meeting, the Reliance board convened to authorize the appointment of twins Isha and Akash, along with Anant, as “non-executive directors of the company,” according to a statement filed with the stock exchange.
During the previous year, Mukesh Ambani, aged 66, paved the way for his eldest son, Akash Ambani, to assume the position of chairman at Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, the largest mobile firm in India.
Notably, Mukesh Ambani retained his role as the chairman of Jio Platforms, the entity that oversees Reliance Jio Infocomm.
In the case of Akash’s twin sister, 31-year-old Isha, she has been designated for involvement with Reliance’s retail segment, while the youngest sibling, Anant, has been earmarked for responsibilities within the new energy ventures.
Please be informed that the Reliance AGM 2023 event is scheduled for August 28. Will Mukesh Ambani unveil details about Jio’s 5G prepaid plans?
