Asia Cup 2023: Rohit Sharma Matches Sachin Tendulkar’s India Record with 9th Half-Century Against Pakistan

In the ongoing Super 4 clash against Pakistan at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Team India captain Rohit Sharma achieved a remarkable feat by scoring his ninth half-century in Asia Cup ODI matches. This accomplishment has allowed the right-handed batsman to equal Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most fifties in the history of the competition.

Rohit Sharma, the 36-year-old opening batsman, showcased his prowess from the outset of the match. He initiated his innings with a maximum, executing a splendid flick shot off the bowling of Shaheen Shah Afridi. He further demonstrated his dominance by taking leg-spinner Shadab Khan to task, dispatching him for three sixes and two boundaries on his way to reaching his half-century in just 42 deliveries. It is noteworthy that six out of Rohit’s nine half-centuries in Asia Cup matches have been against Pakistan.
