Assembly Elections: BJP candidate to file nomination on Basant Panchami, seven candidates declared including four from backward classes.

The BJP has announced seven candidates from Uttar Pradesh for the Rajya Sabha elections. Six of the seven candidates are new, while Sudhanshu Trivedi has been given another opportunity. The BJP has nominated national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi, state minister Amarpal Maurya, and former Congress member who joined BJP, R.P.S. Singh, as candidates. The party has also fielded Navin Jain, former Mayor of Agra, Sangita Balwant Bind, former MLA from Ghazipur Sadar, Sadhana Singh, former MLA from Mughalsarai, and Tejveer Singh, former MP from Mathura, as candidates. Given the number of BJP members in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, it is certain that all BJP candidates will be elected to the Rajya Sabha. For caste balance, the party has nominated one Brahmin, one Vaishya, one Thakur, and four candidates from backward classes (Kurmi, Maurya, Jat, and Bind). During the nomination, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, both Deputy Chief Ministers, State President of the Party, Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, and all senior leaders will be present.
