In the midst of the uproar surrounding the arrest of Forest Minister Jyotipriyo Mallick over a ration distribution scandal in Bengal, opposition leader Subhendu Adhikari has alleged a major scam in the state’s paddy procurement scheme. He claimed that there has been a multi-million rupee embezzlement in the state government’s rice procurement program. Subhendu has also urged the Enforcement Directorate to verify the details of registered farmers involved in the scheme.
