Nandini Chakravarti, the Tourism Secretary, has been appointed as the new Home Secretary of the state. This is the second time a woman IAS officer has been appointed as the Home Secretary of the state, with Leena Chakravarti having held the position 25 years ago. In addition to her role as Home Secretary, Nandini Chakravarti will also continue to oversee the responsibilities of the Tourism Secretary. Former Chief Secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi has been appointed as the Chief Minister’s financial advisor.
