Lucknow: A 13-year-old boy was taken into custody by a joint team of special operation group (SOG) of Trans-Yamuna and Industrial Area police on Sunday on charges of killing a six-year-old boy whose body was found inside a dilapidated structure at Haldi Kalan Mugari village under the limits of Industrial Area police station on December 27. Police have also recovered a brick with blood stains and clothes of the accused from the site.
Station Officer (Industrial Area) Mahesh Mishra, “A six-year-old boy was found murdered inside an old and abandoned construction at Haldi Kalan Mugari village on Thursday morning. The little boy had gone missing under mysterious circumstances while playing outside his house on Wednesday and his father had lodged an FIR under sections 366 (kidnapping), 302 (murder), 201 (disappearance of evidence) and 377 (sodomy) of IPC and sections 5 M and 6 of the POCSO Act.
Mishra added, “After investigation, a joint team of SOG and Industrial Area police on Sunday took the accused into custody and he confessed that he had taken the six year-old boy inside the building on the pretext of giving him a toy but he had the intention to sodomize him. The accused also told police that when the little boy started shouting and threatened to tell his parents, the accused allegedly hit the boy with a piece of a brick on the head and left him bleeding profusely.”
Police said both boys were friends and playmates. Police added the accused frequented the boy’s house. The accused was sent to juvenile home.
