CM Yogi meets victims of
accident involving police SUV
Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday visited the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) and Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) to meet the victims of Saturday’s tragic accident in Arjunganj.
Fifteen people, including six policemen, were injured after an ‘anti-demo’ vehicle of the district administration in the Chief Minister’s convoy collided with vehicles parked on the roadside while trying to avoid a stray dog.
Of the injured, two persons, Neelam (40) and Priya (13) died on Sunday morning.
The CM offered his condolences to the bereaved families and announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for each victim’s family.
Additionally, a financial aid of Rs 50,000 was pledged for the families of the injured persons.
Yogi also interacted with the injured persons admitted for treatment.
He inquired about their well-being, ensuring they were receiving proper medical attention and medication.
Dr Samir Misra, senior faculty in trauma surgery at KGMU, said that the CM spent approximately 25 minutes interacting with patients, attendants, and medical personnel across different wards.
The CM directed the doctors to pay special attention to the patients’ dietary and medical needs.
Principal secretary, Home, Sanjay Prasad, DGP Prashant Kumar, KGMU vice-chancellor Dr Sonia Nityanand, police commissioner SB Shiradkar and district magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar accompanied the CM.
