Congress Commits to Nationwide Rollout of ‘Gruha Lakshmi’ Initiative: Rahul Gandhi Mysuru,

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi declared on Wednesday the intention to extend the ‘Gruha Lakshmi scheme’ nationwide, marking a significant expansion of a program that provides a monthly stipend of Rs 2,000 to female heads of households. Gandhi described this initiative as “the world’s largest cash transfer scheme,” aiming to directly deposit Rs 2,000 into the bank accounts of countless deserving women beneficiaries.

Addressing a gathering in Mysuru, Gandhi emphasized the holistic impact of the initiative, stating, “The quintet of our schemes in Karnataka transcends mere policies; they exemplify a comprehensive governance blueprint. Our ethos revolve around ensuring the welfare of the underprivileged and marginalized, upholding a commitment to inclusivity regardless of religious, caste, or linguistic affiliations. The strides we took for the women of Karnataka will be mirrored on a national canvas. Karnataka is illuminating the path for our entire nation.”

AICC President M Mallikarjun Kharge, who inaugurated the initiative, shared the dais with party stalwart Rahul Gandhi, along with the esteemed presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, in the public event held on the grounds of Maharaja College.
