Congress Criticizes Government for Abolishing NEET PG Qualifying Percentile

On Sunday, the Congress expressed its shock at the government’s decision to eliminate the qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2023, questioning who benefits from the complete removal of minimum standards.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) announced on Wednesday that the qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2023, necessary for counseling in all categories, would be reduced to zero.

In a post on X, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh criticized the Modi government’s decision to reduce the cutoff for MD/MS degree entry via PG-NEET to the zeroth percentile, allowing those with the lowest exam scores to be eligible, calling it “absolutely shocking.”
