A contempt petition was filed in the Lahore High Court on Friday against Pakistan’s Punjab government and the district administration for not naming Shadman Chowk in the city after Indian freedom struggle hero Bhagat Singh.
The petition, filed in the Lahore High Court by Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Chairman Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi, sought contempt proceedings against the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore and the city administration.
