‘Culture Corridor’ G20 Museum Initiative Set for Debut at Leaders Summit
India, in its capacity as the chair of the esteemed G20 consortium, has conceived a pioneering project, the G20 Digital Museum named ‘Culture Corridor.’ This innovative endeavor aims to feature a significant artifact or its digital representation from each of the member nations and the nine guest countries. Sources revealed on Tuesday that the project is poised for its inaugural presentation during the upcoming Leaders Summit scheduled for September.
Among the anticipated highlights of this trailblazing “phygital” museum is the inclusion of digital replicas of iconic works such as the Mona Lisa, the renowned 16th-century masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris. Another anticipated feature is the digital representation of the ‘Girl With a Pearl Earring,’ the celebrated oil painting crafted by Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer, currently housed in a museum in the Netherlands.
The concept of a ‘phygital’ museum encompasses a fusion of physical and digital elements within the museum’s framework.
