In the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari has pledged support for employees protesting to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) at par with central government employees. He has also issued a warning that if Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee does not personally meet him and assure to fulfill the demands, he will resort to a hunger strike.
