Agricultural scientist MS Swaminathan passed away in Chennai on Thursday, according to his daughter Soumya Swaminathan, he was committed to the welfare of farmers and upliftment of the poorest of the society till the end. Former Deputy Director Dr Soumya Swaminathan said, “He was not keeping well for the last few days. He passed away very peacefully this morning. Till the end, he was committed to the welfare of farmers and the upliftment of the poorest of the poor in the society.”
