In recent days, the air pollution level in the national capital, Delhi-NCR, has been rapidly increasing. Over the past seven days, there has been a significant decline in air quality (AQI) in many areas, with most parts of Delhi recording an ‘very poor’ AQI above 400 on Saturday. Such air quality is considered harmful for health in various ways.Experts suggest that this situation may persist for the next 15-20 days, and hence, it is imperative for everyone to stay alert and take measures for protection. Meanwhile, a report has expressed concern about the ever-increasing pollution in Delhi year after year. Scientists point out that in many parts of Delhi, AQI readings are touching 500, nearly 100 times higher than the limit set by the World Health Organization.
