Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, continuous efforts are being made in Uttar Pradesh to connect girls’ education with modern teaching resources. As part of this initiative, girl students in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) are getting opportunities for digital practice through Khan Academy to develop their skills in mathematics and science.
According to Khan Academy’s mid-month performance report for October 1 to 15, 96 percent of the state’s KGBVs are registered on the platform. A total of 80,078 girl students have registered, of whom 66,996 have activated their accounts. Meanwhile, 30,503 girl students have achieved at least 50 percent of the prescribed monthly target.
This initiative is an important step towards strengthening subject understanding, regular practice and learning proficiency among girl students.
In district-wise performance, Saharanpur, Ghaziabad and Kheri have achieved notable results. According to the report, 92 percent of girl students in Saharanpur, 89 percent in Ghaziabad and 81 percent in Kheri achieved at least 50 percent of the monthly target. The achievements of these districts highlight the effective use of digital learning and efforts to engage girl students in regular practice.
The objective of the Khan Academy programme is to make girl students proficient in mathematics and science. As per the prescribed monthly target, each girl student is required to attain the Proficient/Mastered level in at least four skills in each of the two subjects. The digital platform provides girl students with opportunities to practise and develop their subject proficiency. This helps make the learning process more engaging, accessible and outcome-oriented.
The Yogi government’s priority is to ensure that the state’s girls benefit from modern teaching resources alongside quality education. Digital platforms such as Khan Academy are providing girl students in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas with opportunities to enhance their abilities in mathematics and science.
Regular practice, encouragement at the school level and guidance from teachers will help girl students progress towards the prescribed learning targets.
This initiative gives fresh momentum to the state’s efforts to connect girls’ education with technology, quality learning and better educational opportunities.
