Today, the great festival of lights, Diwali, is being celebrated with great enthusiasm in the entire country. This festival, which lasts for 5 days, starts with Dhanteras and ends on the fifth day on Bhaidooj. There is a tradition of worshiping Lakshmi on the day of Kartik Amavasya on Diwali. On this day, Goddess Lakshmi along with Lord Ganesha and Lord Kuber are worshipped. There is a mythological belief that on the night of Kartik Amavasya, Mother Lakshmi comes from Vaikuntha Dham on a tour of the earth and goes from house to house to see whose house is clean and beautiful.
