Lucknow: A verbal duel between a man and his son in an inebriated state took an ugly turn after the latter killed his father Ramraj (52) in Sahijankhurd area under Churk police limits of Sonbhadra district late on Saturday.
ASP Sonbhadra Kalu Singh on Sunday said that teams had been engaged to nab Santosh, who absconded after beating his father to death, while body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem.
During preliminary investigation, it came to light that Ramraj, a native of Rampur Barkonia area, used to work at an under-construction site of a medical college and was staying in a room on rent at Sahijankhurd village. On Saturday evening, Ramraj and Santosh consumed liquor together and later started quarrelling. Ramraj’s daughter and son-in-law were also present there. But, when the father-son duo did not stop fighting, his daughter and son-in-law left the place to sleep at a relative’s house.
Later, Santosh went on hitting his father with a wooden stick, killing him on the spot. After committing the crime, he locked the body inside the room and fled the scene. The incident came to light, when Ramraj’s daughter returned to the house next morning and broke into the room.
