
Lucknow: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly beat his mother to death with an iron rod in Rajiv Nagar colony of Naubasta area on Sunday night.
During police investigation, it came to fore that the man was angry with his mother because she used to have frequent quarrel with his wife. Naubasta police have arrested the accused from the spot.
Police said that during interrogation Ajay revealed that when he returned from work, his wife Roshni and his mother Munni Devi (58) were having some argument.
“He said that he was fed up with their daily quarrel and in a fit of anger, he attacked her mother repeatedly with an iron rod. She sustained grievous wounds on her head and bled to death on the spot.”After committing the murder, the accused informed the police.
Additional deputy commissioner police (South) Ankita Sharma reached the spot on being informed. He said, “Naubasta police have arrested the accused from the spot. The victim’s daughter-in-law has also been detained. Her role in the murder is being probed. During interrogation, Ajay has confessed to the murder.”
“He has been booked under relevant IPC sections including 302 and sent to jail. Further investigations are on,” the ADCP added.
According to police sources, Munni Devi, a resident of Naubasta Rajiv Nagar, lived with her children after the death of her husband Amarpal Sharma. “She has three sons Vijay, Ajay, Rajeev and a married daughter Lata. Her elder son Vijay lives separately with his family. While sons Rajeev, Ajay and his wife Roshni used to live with her,” said the police sources.
