In an unexpected turn of events during the Backward Class Convention organized by the Samajwadi Party (SP) in Lucknow, a shoe was hurled at Swami Prasad Maurya, a prominent leader of the party. The incident occurred while he was attending the OBC Convention at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan. The alleged perpetrator, identified as Akash Saini, reportedly threw the shoe from the crowd, which hit Maurya. The shoe-throwing incident led to an outburst of anger among some party workers, resulting in them confronting a youth who was wearing the dress of a lawyer. The situation escalated, and the youth was physically assaulted by the workers. The police intervened, apprehended the alleged assailant, and took him into custody.
