On Monday, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar took the oath as a newly elected Rajya Sabha member. Apart from Jaishankar, eight other newly elected Rajya Sabha members also took the oath on Monday morning in the Rajya Sabha chamber of the Parliament building. After taking the oath of the parliamentary seat, Jaishankar also made a post on Twitter. He wrote, “Feeling greatly honored as I take the oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha. Thankful to the people of Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the BJP for the opportunity to continue serving the nation.”
