Former US President Donald Trump Faces Arrest Warrant in Georgia Election Interference Case

An arrest warrant has been issued for former US President Donald Trump in connection with alleged attempts to influence the outcome of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. Reports indicate that Trump is required to surrender by August 25. The arrest warrant follows charges against Trump and 18 alleged accomplices. Among the charges against the former President are 13 counts, including violating Georgia state’s racketeering act. These allegations stem from an investigation initiated by Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulsome County in Georgia, into a phone call between Trump and Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in January 2020. This marks the fourth criminal case against the former US President.
