The water level of Ganga is increasing rapidly in Varanasi. Due to this, the cremation ground of Harishchandra Ghat was completely submerged on Friday and water has risen on the second ramp of Manikarnika Ghat. At the same time, there was a change in the Aarti place at Dashashwamedh Ghat on the third day as well. Ganga Aarti took place at the Chowki near Jal Police. At the same time, water entered the Sheetla Mai temple on the ghat.
According to the Central Water Commission, the water level of Ganga has increased by 100 cm in the last 24 hours. On the other hand, the concern of the people living in the coastal areas has increased due to reverse flow in Varuna. The water level of Ganga was recorded at 64.32 meters at eight o’clock on Friday morning and the water level was increasing at a rate of four cm per hour.
