Found Having An Affair, Accused Along With BF Killed Them With A Shovel: Police

Lucknow: Police have arrested the elder sister of two minor girls who were found murdered at their home in UP’s Etawah district late on Sunday evening. According to police, the elder sister had called her boyfriend home in the absence of her parents on Sunday evening when her younger sisters spotted them and said that they would inform the parents about it. In a fit of rage, the elder sister along with her lover then attacked the two with a shovel and murdered them. Police said efforts were underway to trace and arrest the girl’s boyfriend.

“We are conducting raids to arrest the accused Anjali Pal’s (19) alleged lover,” said additional superintendent of police Satyapal Singh (rural). “Police have arrested Anjali, who has confessed to her crime,” he added.

Jaiveer, a farmer in Bahadurpur village in the district, had three daughters and four sons.

On Sunday evening, the two minor girls, Roshni and Surabhi, aged 6 and 7, were found murdered at their house in a village under the limits of Balrai police station in the district.

Police said the accused initially pretended to be innocent and joined the family members in mourning.

“She was very calm during the investigation. However, during further probe, we became suspicious about her role as her statements were contradictory. Besides, we also came to know from villagers that she was having an affair with a local youth. When she was interrogated, she confessed to the crime,” the ASP said.

Police have also recovered the shovel used in the double murder from the house.
