India’s ambition to achieve comprehensive coverage with 6G technology has gained international acceptance at the meeting of the United Nations body ITU’s Study Group in Geneva. This development is expected to reduce the deployment costs associated with the next-generation technology.
ITU is responsible for the establishment of international mobile telecommunications standards.
Despite opposition and efforts to reverse progress by a few member states during the recent meeting, the Department of Telecommunications successfully introduced ‘Ubiquitous Connectivity’ and ratified the framework document, according to an official statement issued on Wednesday.
