
Athens, January 6 (IANS): After 16 years of restoration, a palace in northern Greece that is associated with the ancient Macedonian empire will be reopened on Saturday. It is in this palace that Alexander the Great (356 BCE–323 BCE) was crowned with a wreath. On Friday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis inaugurated the restored palace in Vergina city near the port city of Thessaloniki. The site has been undergoing restoration for the past 16 years.
