Guru Nanak ji is considered the founder of Sikhism and the first Guru of the Sikhs. He was born on the full moon day of Kartik month, hence every year Kartik Purnima day is celebrated as the birthday of Guru Nanak Ji. This year, the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji is being celebrated on 27 November 2023. This is a very important festival for the Sikh community. This festival is also called the festival of lights of the Sikhs.
