Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization by several countries, including Israel, the United States, the European Union, and others.

Hamas has proposed a ceasefire to Israel in three phases. Under this plan, guns could fall silent in Gaza after about four months. All prisoners would be released. As per the proposal, Israel would withdraw its soldiers from the Gaza Strip, and ultimately, a ceasefire agreement could be reached.
