According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), this low-pressure area is likely to form over the east-central and adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal by Friday and subsequently intensify into a well-marked low-pressure area. It will then move northwestwards towards north Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal.
The impact of this weather system is expected to bring heavy rainfall to Gangetic West Bengal on September 29 and September 30, as per the IMD’s forecast.
