Lucknow: Gonda police on Tuesday arrested a 49-year-old man along with his son, 22, for the murder of his daughter, 18, and her boyfriend, 20, in Dhanepur area of the district. According to police, Kripa Ram and his son Raghav Ram had found Aarti in an objectionable state with her boyfriend Satish Kumar and murdered the two in a fit of rage. Later, they disposed of her body on the banks of the Saryu in Ayodhya while Satish’s body was dumped in a jungle, from where it was recovered later, said the police.
Kripa Ram is a farmer while his son works at a shop.
Sadar police circle officer Shilpa Verma said that the crime surfaced after Satish’s father, Bindeshwar Prasad, informed the police about his son missing since August 20.
“We lodged a missing complaint and began the probe,” said the CO.
Verma said that Satish’s last location was found to be near the house of his girlfriend Aarti before his phone was switched off. “Later, villagers told us that Satish’s girlfriend was secretly cremated on the same day,” the CO said.
A police team reached Aarti’s residence and interrogated her father.
After a bit of grilling, they gave in and told us how the two found Aarti and her boyfriend in an objectionable state on August 20 and killed them.
Kirpa’s son Raghav told us that they first strangled Satish and then Aarti, said police.
“In order to conceal the crime, they buried Satish’s body in the thickets while Aarti’s body was buried on the banks of the Saryu in Ayodhya,” added a police officer.
