IAS Abhishek Singh, a resident of Jaunpur, his wife Durgashakti Nagpal is also an IAS officer and is the district magistrate of Banda. There is speculation that Abhishek could contest Lok Sabha elections from Jaunpur. During the Gujarat elections, a photo of him standing in front of a government car during duty went viral on the internet. The Election Commission considered his behavior inappropriate and removed him from duty.
