In a significant development, Independent MP Sumalatha Ambareesh from Mandya, Karnataka, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On this occasion, senior BJP leaders, including B.S. Yediyurappa, the state president, B.Y. Vijayendra, the opposition leader in the state assembly R. Ashok, the party’s election in-charge for Karnataka, National General Secretary R. Mohan Das Agrawal, and former Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, welcomed Sumalatha Ambareesh to the party.
