Thimphu, – India’s U-16 team emerged as the champions of the SAFF U-16 Championship, securing a 2-0 victory over Bangladesh in the title showdown held on Sunday.
Bharat Lairenjam (8th minute) netted a goal in the first half, while Levis Zangminlun (74th) sealed the victory with a second-half goal at the Changlimithang Stadium.
Under the guidance of head coach Ishfaq Ahmed, the Blue Colts displayed exceptional form throughout the championship, showcasing a style of free-flowing, attacking football that left their opponents struggling to keep up.
