India’s official entry to the 2024 Academy Awards, as announced by the Film Federation of India, is the survival drama “2018 – Everyone is a Hero.” The film, based on the events of the Kerala floods that occurred in 2018, has been unanimously selected by a 16-member jury, according to Girish Kasaravalli, a noted filmmaker and the chairperson of the selection committee. Kasaravalli, a renowned figure in Kannada cinema, mentioned that the jury engaged in extensive deliberations before finalizing “2018” as India’s representative at the 2024 Academy Awards.
