ISRO: NASA and ISRO will launch joint space mission in 2024, Earth will be surveyed every 12 days

ISRO: This three-year mission aims to survey all of Earth’s land and ice-covered surfaces every 12 days. This will begin after a satellite commissioning period of 90 days. Among the major tests that are yet to be conducted, the most important is vibration testing. Barela said there is a whole series of tests that we need to do.

NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) will be launched in the first quarter of 2024 after tests specifically related to vibration. “ISRO expects to launch it in the first quarter of next year,” said Phil Barella, NASA NISAR project manager. They expect the launch of NISAR (pronounced ‘NISAR’) from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota via ISRO Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark-II not before January.”
