Following a series of seismic activities, power supply has been cut off in 34,000 homes. In central Japan, several major highways have had to be closed as the earthquake has caused significant cracks in the roads. Japan Airlines has canceled most of its flights to the Niigata and Ishikawa regions until further notice. This comes after a major earthquake and tsunami occurred in 2011.
