On the final Monday of Sawan, a massive crowd gathered at Shiva temples in Kannauj. Devotees flooded in large numbers to witness the event. Those arriving from distant places reached the doorstep of Gaurishankar Mahadev and performed Jalabhishek, a ritual of pouring water.
