In the Kuttanad region, Central Minister Shobha Karandlaje has criticized the Left government in Kerala over the suicide of a rice farmer. Karandlaje accused the state government of failing to utilize the funds from the central government for the welfare of farmers. Many farmers who have invested in cooperative societies and banks are committing suicide due to not receiving money because of corruption.”
