Biju Narayanan, a resident of Kerala, has pioneered a groundbreaking innovation in the form of a smart solar mixie that surpasses its primary blending function by encompassing approximately 15 additional features.
From his early years, Biju Narayanan harbored a profound passion for music, although economic constraints hindered his access to a radio. Fueled by curiosity, at the tender age of 12, he embarked on constructing his very own radio. An inquisitive spirit, he garnered knowledge through literature and hands-on experimentation.
Driven by his innate creativity, Biju embarked on a journey of inventing novel electronic devices to address everyday challenges. In 2010, his ingenious spirit led to the creation of a smart solar mixie, prompted by his wife’s struggles during a power outage.
Diverging from conventional mixies, his invention boasts a multifaceted repertoire. Equipped with an array of 15 distinctive functionalities, this mixie can adeptly chop vegetables and shred coconut. It integrates a WiFi modem, smoke detector, and even a radio, all operable via a remote control.
Moreover, this versatile mixie doubles as a mobile phone charger and an efficient vacuum cleaner. It also incorporates an inbuilt 3W emergency light and a fan for added utility.
Over the span of a decade, Biju dedicated himself to evolving and refining the mixie, augmenting its features progressively. The device’s operational efficiency is bolstered by its reliance on minimal power, functioning on direct current while employing reverse current to charge its battery.
Biju Narayanan, at 53 years old, garnered recognition for his groundbreaking creation, securing the prestigious Rural Innovation Award from the Government of Kerala in 2021. His aspirations now extend to making his ingenious smart mixie accessible to the commercial market.
