Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Raj Bhavan this evening. PM Modi is on a two-day visit to the state and will stay overnight at the Raj Bhavan. An official said that the meeting took place according to protocol. Shortly after PM Modi’s arrival there, Banerjee’s convoy was seen entering the Raj Bhavan a few minutes before 6 pm. Last December, Mamata Banerjee met with PM Modi in New Delhi to press for the release of dues owed to the state. According to the ruling Trinamool Congress, the Centre owes West Bengal ₹1.18 lakh crore.
