An encounter occurred around 4:00 AM near the Banakata-Sohsa canal in Ramkola, Kushinagar district, between a police team and cattle smugglers. The police received information about suspicious activities during patrolling. The active team reached the spot and signaled the pickup-mounted smugglers to stop, but they didn’t comply. Upon chasing by the police, the smugglers opened fire.
