
Lucknow: A class four employee of Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) was booked by Lucknow unit of Anti-Corruption Organisation of UP police on Tuesday for possessing assets more than his known source of income.
In the FIR, inspector Nurul Huda Khan said a complaint of disproportionate assets was filed against the accused Ashok Kumar Srivastava (in his early 50’s) of Saadatganj recently.
During an internal probe by LDA, it was found that Ashok had earned about Rs 31.24 lakh from salary, arrear, bonus and bank interest since his job in the department for the past 15 years. This also included earnings from his parental property. But during the same period, he had spent about Rs 62.57 lakh.
This way, Ashok had spent over Rs 31 lakh which was nearly 100% more than his earnings.
SHO, Gomtinagar, Deepak Pandey, said an FIR under the charges of prevention of corruption act has been lodged against the accused.
