Kolkata: With a long history of electoral violence in Malda and Murshidabad districts, the third phase of Lok Sabha (LS) elections in Bengal is nothing short of a litmus test for the Election Commission. Stringent arrangements have been made for this phase. By 9 am today, 14.60 percent of the state has cast their votes. In North Malda, 15.33 percent, South Malda 16.30 percent, Jangipur 16.95 percent, and Murshidabad 14.87 percent voting has been recorded. Meanwhile, there is a by-election for the assembly in Bhagwangola. Here, 13 percent of the votes have been cast.
