In a proactive effort to combat environmental pollution, the Nagar Nigam (City Municipality) and local police collaborated on a commendable operation. Their joint mission resulted in the confiscation of a staggering 400 kilograms of banned polythene in the Dubugga area.
During the operation, officials discovered an extensive stash of polythene, which had been deemed detrimental to the ecosystem due to its non-biodegradable nature. The illicit material was not only confiscated but also promptly loaded onto a loader for proper disposal.
The operation was carried out during the early hours of the day, reflecting the commitment of both the police and civic authorities to address pressing environmental concerns. This joint endeavor showcased their determination to uphold public health and maintain the cleanliness of the city.
Enforcement Chief Colonel Satendra, a key figure in this operation, emphasized the gravity of the issue by stating that the confiscated polythene had a substantial value, reaching into lakhs. This stark realization highlights the scale of the illegal polythene trade and its impact on the environment.
This successful initiative serves as a reminder of the power of collective action and the importance of strict enforcement of environmental regulations. The collaborative efforts of the Nagar Nigam and the police have set a positive example for responsible citizenship and the preservation of a clean and sustainable environment for future generations.
