Lucknow’s North Zone Police has apprehended a gang of five members involved in supplying counterfeit notes via social media. The police team seized three lakh rupees in fake currency and counterfeiting equipment from them. These individuals provided fake notes at five times their value in exchange for genuine currency. The police are searching for other members of this group. Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Zone, Kasim Abdi, stated that on Monday, they arrested five individuals, including a mastermind, from Ghaila Pul area, Pratapgarh Antu Moraha, Itaunja Narayanpur, and Alipur, New Delhi. These individuals confessed to manufacturing fake currency in collaboration. The police investigation revealed that they used social media to attract customers for their counterfeit notes. People fell into their trap to earn quick money, after which they exchanged one lakh rupees in fake notes for twenty thousand rupees.
