Preparations complete at Lucknow’s Aishbagh Ramleela Ground with the effigy of Ravana ready. Unlike previous years, the effigies of Meghnad and Kumbhakaran will not be burnt. Across the country, the joyous festival of Vijayadashami is being celebrated. In the capital city of Lucknow, at 8:00 PM, the burning of Ravana’s effigy symbolizes the victory of good over evil, celebrated with great enthusiasm nationwide.”
