Man held for wielding gun in hosp

Lucknow: A man who was seen in a video forcing at gunpoint doctors of a private hospital to treat him in Barabanki district, was arrested on Saturday. The accused was identified as Adarsh Singh.

Singh was seen in the video reaching the private hospital in Ramsanehi Ghat police station area. The hospital is owned by Dr Jagjeet Singh of Ayodhya district. Adarsh Singh, resident of Ramsanehi Ghat, had come to the hospital with his companions on July 13. Hospital management said Adarsh Singh, with a saffron scarf slung on his shoulder entered the hospital bypassing the staff who asked how they could help him. He forced into the doctor’s cabin and whipped out a pistol and putting it on the table, showed a wound on his leg, asking the doctor to treat it.

The hospital staff alleged that he abused them and threatened everyone and left the hospital without paying fees.

Dr Singh said, “The man was identified as Adarsh Singh. He abused the women staff to which I objected and all I said was to address him as ‘yaar’ (friend) and he lost his cool, saying calling him ‘yaar’ in front of women staff was an insult to him. I was scared and said sorry and took him to another cabin.”

SHO, Ramsanehi Ghat, Ajay Tripathi, said FIR was registered against Adarsh Singh based on which he was arrested.
