Lucknow: A 40-year-old mathematics teacher of a private school in Budheshwar locality of Para allegedly sexually abused a Class 10 girl student of the college and threatened her against reporting the matter to police or to her parents, or else he would fail her in the subject. The incident took place on August 8, but the complaint was lodged on Thursday. Later, the accused was arrested.
The accused, Bhaskar Mishra, lured the girl with good marks in the subject he taught to secure her mobile phone number and started making lurid calls. His act was not known to the girl’s parents as she did not tell them because the teacher had threatened her of dire consequences against speaking out. He had allegedly even threatened to kill her and her parents if she reported the matter to anyone. On August 8, Mishra took her to the laboratory in the school where he allegedly touched her inappropriately.
“My daughter looked distressed but was not ready to open up, but on being coaxed, she spoke to us about the ordeal she had faced at the hand of the teacher and we lodged a complaint with the police,” said the girl’s mother.
Additional DCP, West Zone, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, said an FIR was registered on Thursday and the accused teacher was arrested within an hour.
