Dreams do come true, especially when pursued with determination and zeal. The remarkable journey of MP Ahammed commenced at the age of 20 when he ventured into the world of entrepreneurial endeavors by establishing a spice trading business. Born into a family deeply rooted in trade and landownership, he has now risen to prominence as the proud owner of the Malabar Group of Companies.
In 1993, he laid the foundation for his business, which, at the time, recorded $5 million in sales, according to The News Minute. Currently, Ahammed serves as the chairman of the company. The Malabar Group operates an impressive network of 350 showrooms across nine different countries. The group has also ventured into collaborations with Eham Digitals, a household appliances manufacturer, and Green Thumb, a supplier of organic farming essentials.
In 2014, the plans for the Travancore complex were initiated, with the aim of creating a world-class shopping destination. This complex, developed by Malabar Developers, represents India’s first green mall and features numerous eco-friendly initiatives. It was inaugurated by Oommen Chandy, the former Chief Minister of Kerala, and stands as a testament to Ahammed’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in business.
