In Madhya Pradesh, every shift in the tribal vote bank has resulted in a change in the government. Even during the United Madhya Pradesh era, in 1990, the BJP formed the government solely based on the trust of tribal constituencies. In 1993 and 1998, when this vote bank shifted to the Congress, the Congress formed the government. In the 2003 elections, the tribal voters aligned with the BJP.
